UPDATE: About 8.20am today (Tuesday 18 January), emergency services responded to reports of a truck fire at Clyde Mountain on the Kings Highway, Monga, near Pooh’s corner, approximately 20km east of Braidwood.
NSW Fire and Rescue have extinguished the fire. There are no reports of injuries.
Officers from Monaro Police District are on scene where traffic diversions have been implemented.
The road is currently open but traffic is affected in both directions.
“Prime mover destroyed but heavy machinery on the trailer saved,” said a spokesperson from Braidwood Fire & Rescue NSW.
“Happily there were no injuries.”
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and to monitor Live Traffic NSW.
